John has had over twenty years experience in the management of personnel, management systems development, and the training of personnel in various industries including aviation maintenance, manufacturing, chemicals and explosives. During this time, he developed an extensive and broad based portfolio of expertise in managerial systems and importantly the ability to communicate their application and implementation into the workplace.

John's commenced as a Technician with the RAAF. His technical, team building and motivational abilities saw him rapidly promoted to a senior technical management position, spending time as a Technical Instructor, Course Developer, and Assessor of Instructors, and advising senior RAAF officers on the implementation of "RAAFQ" the RAAF's Quality Management Program.

Following the RAAF, eight years at Dyno Wesfarmers (now Dyno Nobel Asia Pacific DNAP) saw him developing management systems to achieve ISO 9000 (Quality Assurance) and the International Safety Rating System ISRS (Safety). He then tackled a Total Customer Satisfaction Program (a Quality Management initiative), designing surveys to gauge employee perceptions of the effectiveness of the company's management systems, and also successfully project managed improvement teams that realised substantial commercial savings. His final role within DNAP was as the Health, Safety & Environment Trainer, developing training that aligned audit requirements and management system information, significantly improving compliance with system requirements.

John believes that the commercial success of any company hinges on the ability of managers and employees to apply continuous improvement methodologies to their company systems. In October 2000 he founded Augean Consulting Services to pursue this belief. This company provides Australian Industry with management advisory and consulting services to customise and implement commercially effective management systems and training solutions. John is always looking for technologies and applications of technologies that compliment this improvement ethos.
